Mid Update: Wrinkles n' Things
09/19/2023
Welcome to Mid Update, a thing that just made up a few minutes ago, I expect these type of blog post to be pretty short, and by that I mean actually "short" and not my version of short, hopefully.
I hope with post like these I could remind myself of all the art progress I've made over weeks or whenever I can remember to post stuff like this...
Anyways, I spent most of the day trying to practice drawing wrinkles in clothes, I got this How to draw clothes book from the library, and I've been using it on and off to understand how to draw wrinkles in clothes (as an artist does...).
I took some refs from Pinterest, and these are what I could come up with...
I tried to pick from a male and female body, but when the female sketches I feel like I focused more on flowy wrinkles instead of more tight body close wrinkles. Overall, I think I did a pretty good job, though...
I was going to continue work on an animatic I was making with my Blossom Valley Ocs, but then I realized I haven't taken the time to draw them enough to have their designs be consistent in the animatic. I knew that was going to drive me MAD, so Imma just wait 'til I make more drawings with them..
Instead of working on the animatic, I wanted to do some more writing but I got kind of side tracked by making a notion section for my ZineKidz concept. I got the idea to make that section when I found one of the models I was sketching while practicing wrinkles really inspiring, at least inspiring enough to make a character based of them.
So, I kicked up another paracosm template, and since the paracosm temp in my notion takes FOR.EVE.ER to load, I went to work on the little logo banner I like to make for my paracosms.
I was able to find some pretty cool Y2k font on DeviantArt, and I already had the spark brush and that fit pretty well here too. The background is made up of popular Y2k magazine covers, mostly from japan.
For the main notion banner, again, I used a japanese Y2k magazine cover, I think this issue is from Egg. For the icon, I used a Y2k icon maker I found on picrew...
I made a profile section for the character I had in mind, I named him Reku, just cuz. The face claim for Reku is 7ince7 on instagram...
As I start to use Notion more and more I've come to realize that I use the paracosm section more as a place to keep ideas that still in their infancy, like ideas that I like playing around with but I don't really have a consistent long running story, or ideas that are just fun to think about and make stories n' drawings based off. Which is what a paracosm is basically, so I guess it still counts a paracosm, so yeah.
Making the ZineKidz notion section took up most of the time I had left today, that's not bad, its just a thing....
Next time, I hope I could work on some writing or something....Idk...I don't know how to end this...I'm really hungry soooooo...
Later days, ig..
