Cheers Legacy Gen1: Meet Tanya-Niki/Progule

  Banner first gen

Meet Tanya-Niki Cheers

She had a pretty privileged life, grew up in a big house .  Her parents were rich and well-known artist/art critics, because of this she has a strong passion for art and was taught by the best in the industry (her parents made sure of that). While Niki's life was filled with extravagant parties, and luxurious  gifts, she wasn't really happy. Since her parents were perfectionist everything in Niki's life was scheduled to the T. She had to be here at this time, talk to these people, present herself in a specific way, and such. Also, it didn't help that she was clumsy, a trait her parents tried to kick out of her, but etiquette and poise classes could only do so much. Not to mention her parents would barely have any time to spend with her, but it's not like they ever took the time to ask how she feels or what she wanted to do. While Niki did love art and love making it, her parents wanted her to only make classical realism art, which Niki found boring. She wanted to do cutesy pop art and illustrations, but her parents didn't approve of it because it wasn't "real art" . Even though her parents didn't support her, she still found a way to teach herself in the little spare time she had.

Soon after attending a prestigious art high school, Niki's parents got her into a prestigious art college  which she had visited during one of her parents fancy charity events, the school was well-known for having the best and brightest artist be taught there . At orientation, Niki really didn't like the vibe the school was putting out everyone was self-absorbed and boastful, but she had to go to make her parents happy. At art school, she didn't make any friends because everyone was rude, everytime she shared an art piece that she was really proud of (i.e illustration or pop art) no one would bat an eye. Most of the time  she spent at school, she was miserable. The classes  either consist of  listening to a boring speech or teaching her something she already knew. Niki knew if she went on like this she was going to end up hating art, she had to leave but she couldn't go home, she had  to go somewhere where no one knew her name. So she packed her things, took some money from her bank account, and bought a bus ticket to the farest town away. Niki didn't care if she had to build a house from the ground up, all she wanted was a place where she could  be free....

Since then....

 08-27-18_3-31-18 PM

With her new found freedom Niki decided to be more spontaneous with what she would do in a day. On her first day in her new town she decided to go to the bar to meet the locals.  There she met her new friend Brant Hecking, who was a really sweet guy that found her naivety to be funny. They were able to start up a conversation about their favorite artist over a few sweet and spicy drinks. She made another  spontaneous decision one night when she and Brant went to a club down in Windenburg. There she met two cool DJs DJ Candy and Joaquin, DJ Candy was mixing the music and Joaquin came in to help Niki with her dance moves on the dance floor. It was Niki's first time dancing to music that wasn't slow boring ballroom music. Brant and Niki also went to the local  Flea market and Niki haggled a comfortable couch and brought some really pretty Lotus lights for her room.

While not everything went well for Niki in her new life, there were a  few critics that didn't like her work at her job, and she got in trouble for lashing out at him, it seemed like something was always broken in her house every other day,  she had a lonely love day which made her feel so depressed the next day she almost didn't even get out of bed, it wasn't until Brant invited her over for ice cream and movies when she started feeling better. On the day Niki  got a raise she spent it on getting a porch in the back, so her friends could have a place to   hang out while she grill for Bang Bang Pow Day.  It didn't end up looking all that great.

 08-27-18_3-31-18 PM

Despite this Nikki still had a great Bang Pow Day, she made sure of that after the love day fail. Throughout  the day she was practically bouncing off the wall with Bang Bang Pow Spirit. She was blowing her celebratory Bang Bang Pow horn every minute and was throwing confetti everywhere and on everyone she met. Her enthusiasm and spontaneousness seem to have caught the eye of the  Avant Gardes, a group of misfits who enjoy the arts and being spontaneous. Niki was invited to their club meeting, at the club meeting she still carried the spirit of Bang Bang Pow Day.

Niki had a nice time all the members were nice and one of them was the little sister of DJ Candy, Yuki. Although there was one club member that was a little too nice to Niki, and was obviously flirting with her, but she was to spirited to noticed.  For the rest of Bang Bang Pow, she spent time with her friends at the local pool, then they took her  to a place called The Bluffs where all the cool people hung out there was a big party going on because  of Bang Bang Pow. It was there that Niki finally got to  show off some of  her cooking skills by grilling up some burgers for everyone.  Everyone headed back to the Pool for the finale of the Bang Bang Pow fireworks, which almost didn't happen. Due to a group called the Renegades, a group of troublemakers that broke the DJ booth and stole the fireworks. Luckily, Niki was able to put her handy skills to use and was able to fix the DJ Booth and she had some leftover  fireworks from the Humor and Hijinks Festival, although the fireworks literally blew up in her face, they still put on quite a show. It was a great night despite the fact Niki was all sooty once she came home.

After the crazy Bang Bang Pow night, Niki decided she was going to take a day just to relax, especially since she didn't have work that day. She went down to the coffee shop and had a nice cup of mocha and just enjoyed the day. It was then that something special happened. While enjoying  her cup of mocha, a nice guy came up to talk to her, he said that he had seen her around town, he had been meaning to talk to her.

08-27-18_3-31-18 PM

He said that he had seen something special about her. The guy introduced himself as Quinn Dean, a local handyman who likes to go around fixing broken stuff for people as a side job. Quinn said he was nearby the pool house when he had overheard from a few disappointed passers-by about the Renegade's sabotage , but by the time he got there everything was fine and that Niki had done a great job fixing the dj booth. Quinn also really admired Niki's passion for the holiday and found it really cute.

Nikki was flattered, guess her handy skills weren't only good for fixing broken fridges and sinks. Quinn then asked Niki if she wasn't busy tomorrow that she would like to go out on the town for the day when all the restaurants and local businesses give out free food and drinks. This year was special because it fell on the same day as the city Spice Festival, Niki said she would love to.

08-16-18_4-28-41 PM

At the Spice Festival, Niki ran to the nearest booth, she was so excited to try some exotic spicy food. Back home her parents never tried anything exotic, spicy, or messy. It was just the same boring fancy food each night, but now she was ready to try all the food the festival had to offer. Although she wasn't prepared for her body to sweat so much, she still enjoyed the food.

08-27-18_3-31-18 PM

A part from sweating bullets, Quinn and Niki still had a nice time, Quinn had already developed a resistance to spicy food since the spice festival was one of his favorites (next to Geekcon).  He couldn't help but laugh at Niki's reaction to trying spicy food for the first time. Later, they laid on the ground just looking at the stars, despite being in the the heart of the city the stars were still pretty bright. Niki talk to Quinn about her childhood vaguely, she didn't get too specific in fear of exposing her past to Quinn because she wasn't really sure how he would  react.

Quinn also opened up about his childhood as well, he had a older sister  who was an athlete and had a hard time staying still which meant she would break a lot of stuff while practicing, that's where his handy skills came in. His sister was the star of the family, but Quinn didn't mind it much at all. While his sister was either winning sports trophies and awards, practicing, or hanging out with her friends. Quinn kept to himself in his room always tinkering with something. By the time he was 10 he  took apart and put back together all his toys in the toy box numerous times.  His sister would tease him from time to time, they would get into small fights (she would always win in the end), but she was always there for Quinn when kids picked on him for being nerdy and not that strong.

Niki wishes she had a sibling to be there for her, maybe if she did her childhood wouldn't have been as lonely as it was.

08-27-18_3-31-18 PM

Quinn and Niki ended there successful date with a kiss. At first, it was just a tender kiss on the lips, but that didn't have the right amount of passion that she always wanted her first kiss to have, so she went back and planted a big one right on Quinn that left him weak in the knees.

So, we are finally caught up on the story. Tanya-Niki lives in a humble home, has cool friends, and is in a loving relationship.Things are going quite well for the former rich girl, let's hope it stays that way....08-27-18_3-31-18 PM

Quickie update

I've been thinking I'm probably going to start adding some post about my sim's legacy on here. It's not going to be everyday, just when something interesting happened.  I also think documenting the story of my sim, it's going to make me feel more immersed in the story, so be looking for to that soon I guess....(if the legacy gets long enough I'm probably going to add it's own page just to keep track of generations...)

NostoNeo: Urban legends

So, in developing my city I decided to add some new characters. In NostoNeo, the citizens (mostly young people) have to be in a building by night time . It's okay if you walking to a destination but you can't just be wandering around. If you wonder around you may end up running into one of three ..

Missy

Missy is one of the three glitch girls (at least that's what I'm calling them at the moment). From the she looks mostly normal, but as you can see she isnt. She can't really talk that well when she tries it's sounds like grabledg mess. She uses her phone to text what she's saying (although most people run away before she can get the chance). She can also kind of sorta distorted the environment around but only when she touches something (and it's usually by accident) but the environment turns back to normal once she leaves. she can also tamper with electronics by messing with the frequencies and such

Although she is one of the most normal looking out of the group she's the most shy. Sometimes she can be found with  her eyes  pitch black and she standing there like a discharge robot, but one she rests up her eyes go back to red.

Bianca

Bianca is similar to Missy, but she a little  more outgoing despite the fact she doesn't look too human. She can be seen wandering around the trendy shops and the mall (usually when it's empty at night) trying on all the trendy clothes. She also likes to spy on teenagers (usually fashion forward girls and good looking boys). While she doesn't have human skin she can camouflage into any background when needed. People at night can often hear her laughing to herself. Sometimes she likes to spook people just for the fun of it.

  Telly

Telly, as you can see she has a tv for a head. Most of the time she has a static screen and can be found slumping just standing there, if Telly see someone worrying about something she'll try to project what they're worried about on her screen, even if it doesn't make any sense at the time. Telly tries her best not to slump or sulk around creepily but she can't help it. She usually puts all her energy in her headset that there's not much left to use for walking or running normally. She can crawl out her screen but that also takes loads of energy and she can only walk so far away from her tv set before she completely passes out.

Like Missy, and Bianca she also has a love for fashion and wanting to just fit in. While they tend to scare off people when they try to talk to them, but  they still have each other. When the Candy-Gore Fest (Halloween) rolls around they are free to walk around, go to parties, participate in the activities, and talk to people without worrying about scaring people away.

I still don't have the actual stories on how they end up this way, or if they just straight up ghost, but I still have time. I just want to share what I made so far.

Disenchantment: Review

Animated GIF

Disenchantment was one of the new netflix shows that came out this past weekend, I  had first heard about the series on Twitter people were talking about it and saying that they were really excited for it. I wasn't really expecting much especially since I saw it right after "To All The Boys I've Loved Before" which was kind of disappointing. So, I finally sat down and watch it and it was really good. I was thinking  I was just going to watch the first 3 episodes and then drop the series like I do with other shows on Netflix, but I ended up watching the whole in about a 1 and 1/2.  By the last episode was on the edge my seat wanting more, so let me explain why I enjoyed his show so much..

Animated GIF

The story follows the misadventures of Princess Tiabeanie (nicknamed Bean), a princess who just wants to marry for love, drink and have a good time, Elfo, an elf who wants more out of life and be someone, and Luci, a demon who tries to steer Bean and other in the wrong direction, he was sent as gift to Bean by mysterious oracles. The early episodes aren't obviously connected, and they can be enjoyed as stand only episodes, which I really find refreshing because alot of cartoon nowadays like to have a facade of laid back episodic show but then suddenly out of nowhere try to  have/force  a serious plot line. Which I guess you could say this show does the same, but since Disenchantment already has a sober/dark tone its not really a big shift.

Speaking of the dark tone, I really like how the story is fantasy fairy-tale like setting with some dark ages/middle ages realism thrown in. There a villager that goes around town collect bodies of people who died from the plague, there are creatures like hooker fairies,  incest, child labor, dumb villagers,  marrying for political reasons ,basically anything dark from the dark ages. I don't mind fantasy being taken seriously if it's like a book/novel, but for tv show and movie I prefer my fantasy not to take itself too seriously all the time.

While the story seemly isn't continuous, there are running gags like Luci the demon being mistaken for a cat, Bean's little step brother being scared of skillets after being kidnapped, there's one running gag I that's from the first episode that shows up near the end, that I think it's too good to spoil, and jester that shows up from time to time.

Most of the jokes in this show hit for me, and when it was a miss it wasn't too bad. The humor is similar to the simpsons and there are alot background/sight gags, there a subtle references to actual history, the good old pop culture references sprinkled here and there.  The running gags and jokes also add a lot of world-building, making the world feel lived in and alive, despite all the death everywhere.

While, there are some questions and plot line there are drop or never really given a solid answer, I would think that those would more explored in the second season, since this season does end on a cliff hanger.

  Animated GIF

The story maybe not special to some, I think where the show really shine it's in the characters. The 3 main characters really have a good chemistry and dynamic with each other. I was really worried that Bean would just be the typical tough princess who don't need no man, and hates any feminine and is basically written...well like a male character. But she isn't, she's actually and really relatable  and likeable character. I really like how in the first episode she states that she wants to marry for love or at least have a guy whose willing to listen to her. She really cares about Luci and Elfo a lot since they are the only two people she can consider as friends. Some  people question her actions saying that they don't know if she's good or evil, but I think that's the whole point of her arch/character, she trying to find out who she really is, that's why in the first episode she doesn't want to get married not only because, she enjoy her freedom being single, but because she hasn't truly figured out who she is a person yet.

Luci is probably one of  my favorite of 3, he's evil but he's not straight up in your face evil. I think he's spouse to represent Bean's personal demons (ex: her laziness, her drinking habits, how she can be kind of harsh sometimes)  rather than being symbol of general evil. It feels like he  just wants to have a good time like Bean, and does seem to care about her to some point. He reminds me of that type of friend that like to dare people to do stupid things, and then tell you how stupid you were for actually going through with it.

Elfo is sweet and naive, but in an endangered why. Although his sub plot of having a crush on Bean is a little cliche (I think it would have been just fine it they were just fine if they were just friends) the show doesn't really seem to push it too much. Elfo is alway trying to push Bean and Luci to the better more moral option. Even when they don't listen to him, he doesn't nag them for it or act passive aggressive. No matter how bad the situation is he always seems to look on the bright side and is always up for adventure.

King Zog is Bean's father, and at first he seem like a jerk dead-beat dad, but  He does really care about Bean, he just has a weird way of showing it. You can see he's really struggling to understand her and show his affection.

The prime minister of Dreamland who has a deep relationship with wizard. The prime minister seems to shift from being on Bean's side to the King side, and he's also pretty mysterious. The wizard, who actually just a guy that put stars on his dunce cap kind of reminds me of the crazy scientist type of character. Always coming up with some way to use Elfo's magical elf blood to good use.

Bean's stepmother, Queen Oona whose also pretty mysterious being some type of repliatan species, with an ambiguous accent and coming from a place with a asian/japanese aesthetic. I hope in the second season we get to know more about her and backstory.

The conclusion..

In conclusion, Disenchantment is fun watch,  the characters are likeable and have good banter between each other, the show is full of clever and funny sight gags (as always ), and most of the episodes can be good stand alone episodes.  So, if anyone looking for a good fun show to watch that doesn't have a heavy or complex plot, Disenchantment is a quality choice.

To All The Boys I've Loved Before... Thoughts/rant/rambles

                                                   Cover image done

( I was going to review insatiable, but everyone's  has already said everything wrong with that show, and while I believe show isn't as bad as 13 reasons. At least Insatiable is more a fun watch, but like  I said I don't really have anything new to add to the conversation so...)  (I promise the next blog review will be more organized)

 Animated GIF

Also this post is really rambly and a bit ranty, at the time of first writing this I just finished the movie and all these ideas were fresh in my mind. I put a TL;DR at bottom with my thoughts more simple put.)

I was really excited for this movie, I thought it would be a cheesy sickly sweet romance movie like everyday, or everything, everything which are too movie I really enjoy despite their cheesy-ness. But To all the boys iv ever loved wasn't like that at all. It was just you average "let's pretend we're in a relationship, but let's not really fall in love " type story..
The basic plot is Lara Jean Covey is a 16 year old girl who left gets turn upside down when the love letter she wrote to every boy she had a crush on get send out mysteriously one of the boys who gets a letter is her sister's old bf, Josh who the sister dump because she was going to college in Scotland and wanted to focus on her studies. To avoid talking to Josh and explaining her feels like an actual human being, Lara insteads just Mack's on a nearby boy who she also had a crush on Peter. From then on she starts to date Peter to make it look like she likes him instead of Josh. Peter goes along with it so he can make his Ex girlfriend jealous. As time goes on Peter and Lara start developing feeling for each other and so on...( You know how it goes..)

While I don't have a problem the basic plot itself it's fine, although when I first heard just the shorter verison of the trailer and the plot. I thought she would had to go through multiple boys to find her true love, but that would be too complex. The problem is that we don't really get to see Lara and Peter's relationship grow. like at the start of the fake relationship Lara and Peter's make a pact to not actually kiss because Lara wants to save it for the real thing, but then literally a few scenes later they are making out in the hot tub. The movie really wants you to believe Lara and Peter's have chemistry, but it's just not there, and it's not like the actor/ress(s) are bad (both the boys are really cute, btw). It's just nothing. Lara tells the audience she's becoming more comfortable around Peter and his friends but it only shows one scene of that. They also try to push them being together as a good idea because they both lost their parents Oof...so I guess they have to kiss now. The movie also similar to the kissing booth because the way it's written is like something out of fanfic ( I actually wrote a fan fiction with the same plot line when I was younger). The way Peter talks especially shows, like he doesn't talk like a real teenager he talk like what a teenage girl would like a boy to talk to them. Another thing is that this movie uses the misunderstanding trope alot...like alot. In the last have of the movie they use it at least 3 times. The movie tries to write it off by Lara saying she can't really trust people because they end up leaving like her mom did. That would be okay...if her mom actually made the conscious decision to leave, but her mom died...she didn't actually get up and leave her family, and it's not like she or either of her sisters nor her father had a bad relationship with the mother. They remember her fondly. So saying that Lara can't trust people because she afraid that she'll leave isn't really a good reason when nobody (except for Peter's Ex, who used to be friend with Lara in middle School) left her.

The book the movie is based on seems have got in different direction in the book, Josh admits he had/has feelings for Lara and her feelings go back for the between Peter and Josh until she realizes she like Peter more. There's actually a whole series of books for TATBILB. Which I guess the plot is way more flesh out and realizes.
I feel like this movie is going to get a lot of praise for having a diverse cast, bit no so much for the writing because if the movie didn't have a colorful cast I don't think anyone would pay it no mind
At the end of the day, isn't as bad as the kissing booth, I just expected more from it. It's an okay movie if just want to cute movie with shallow drama that mostly resolved as quickly as it brought up.

(TL;DR I expected the movie to have more a plot, but then again the movie didn't have a enough cheesy sweet fluff for me to feel satisfied or care about the mains.  If you read the book the movie probably makes more sense and means more, the movie is decent but nothing I've not seen before..)

Comic/Blog update

busy chis sweet home GIF

So, since I've learned that Tapas has some weird practice they do with their business ( I mean every business does, but it was just rubbing me the wrong way). Anyways, so now along with regular blogs and reviews l'll put my comic pages up here as well. I'll probably spend today trying to set it up, but I feel more comfortable with my comic being on here, and most people who actually care about the comic follow me on Twitter anyways, I mean it's not like I had a huge following on Tapas anyways...

What's in an A E S T H E T I C (board)?

Title

For at least about a year I have had a fascination with A E S T H E T I C S, I'm not too deep into aesthetics to where I'm seeking out aesthetic clothes, or aesthetic plants and decorations to have around and to put on the wall like others in my age group.  All I  have is a folder with a bunch of sub folders with images of stuff that is considered to be aesthetically pleasing or vaporwave inspired. No, I didn't get the images for Tumblr (I stay as far away from that site as possible) I got 'em from Deviantart (which is no better than Tumblr in hindsight and to some is actually worse, but eh) I was planning to do a series of collages with these images just for fun, but as usual with most things that start simple idea it grew into a new big idea. An idea that inspired me to make a comic based off a  bunch images in a college, and when there's a comic there are characters, and when there are characters comes  CHARACTER AESTHETIC BOARDS!

                                                 Animated GIF

( all boards featured in gif made by Cherrilu on Pinterest)

A Character Aesthetic Board is a collection of pictures (or a college) of images that suppose to give the viewer a good look into what the character is like, what they like, what they don't like, how they feel, and what they think. People can make character boards for their own Ocs (original characters) or make character boards for already existing characters they like. You can even make aesthetic boards for a place (usually fictional) or for a story idea.  They are two different types of Aesthetic Boards MoodBoards and Aesthetic Boards (but you can use the term Aesthetic boards for both,it's fine.)

MoodBoard

Moodboard  ( sometime called Picspam)  are more on the college side, when it comes to making a aesthetic board. It's usually one single image consisting of  other smaller images with some quotes sprinkled in between and throughout the board.  Some even categorized each image that relates to their character. They are made with images found on the internet through Google, Getty Images, Pinterest, Tumblrs and other places where stock images are abundant. These boards are common found on Tumblr and Twitter. People also tend to add their character bios to Picspam.

Aesthetic (Pinterest)Board

Aesthetic (Pinterest) board is exactly what it sounds an aesthetic board on Pinterest, what makes it differ from a Moodboard is that with a aesthetic Pinterest board you can add images seamlessly and endlessly to your heart's content. You can also arrange the pins (images) at anytime with have to go into any editing program like Picmonkey or Photoshop. Moodboards can also be included within a Pinterest Board. Since Pinterest has a kind of small character limit for descriptions for boards a lot of people just try to sum up their character in a short poem or  give just a brief description. ( Story aesthetic board are also more common Pinterest at least from what I have come across.)

Now, if you want to make a Aesthetic Board which one do you choice? that's a pretty tough question, it all kind of depends on if you that type of person that has a lot of ideas that just keep coming, or if you only have a few set ideas that you like. (and also if you don't mind being on Tumblr) but it's just as easy to get a Tumblr account as it's a Pinterest. You don't even have to have a Tumblr account to make a moodboard you can post just about anywhere or keep it to yourself.

I partially more often of Pinterest because I had already had account at the time I started that I made in study hall because my teacher thought a creative person like me could use Pinterest (huh, who knew she was right). Pinterest is also a good to help keep or inspiration strike  going longer and longer as you add more and more pins, but it can also make you feel like you not really doing anything active, which where if you make a MoodBoard you actively putting together a college. Although I think you can get the same feeling looking at finished moodboard you made when scrolling through your Pinterest board.  So, it's to each their  own.

   Animated GIF

Now, I already stated that I had a Pinterest account before I even knew aesthetic boards were a thing.  I made during study hall in 9th grade because my math teacher thought an artsy kid like me could use it. At the time  I found really no use for the site creatively, I only thought it was a site for middle aged mothers to look up cute art n' craft ideas, birthday themes, dinner recipes and all that mundy jazz.  It wasn't until one day 4 years later I actually found a use for it....

I love characters a lot, making characters was always a thing   I used to (and still) do ever since the makers of that DA comic I made a whole blog post about broke up. I not only like making  characters, I also love to see and read about other people's characters. So, from time to time when I'm bored or have nothing else better to do, I look up OCs and read their bios and if they are interesting enough read their stories. It was during one of my OCs searching I can across a young artist going by the username of Cherrilu on Deviantart. I found her OC Tallulah and fell in love with the character's story and overall design, I looked through her gallary a found another OC, C(K)armen who was also just as interesting as...

Tallulah

Their story: https://toyhou.se/647033.-

Karmen

I poked around Cherrilu's page some more and found that she had a ToyHouse account.  If you don't know what Toyhouse is it's archive for OCs, adoptables, story ideas, and roleplays. It's usually very hard to get a account because you need a invite code and only those who already have accounts can give them out either in giveaway or to a friend, it's very sought after some even pay money to get a code . I'm not surprised Cherrilu has an account she very talented, so it makes sense. On the Toyhouse account, I found that she listed having a pinterest account in her bio. At the time, I thought it was strange for a young artist to have account on site mainly use to look up art n' craft ideas. When I saw her Pinterest page my view on the site completely changed. It was like a whole new world opened up to me, and I had discover a new way to no only look at other people's characters, but my own as well. Scrolling through all her character board made me feel like a had a nice chat with them or had a look through their instagram feed. The characters felt so real and alive, and this was all done by using simple images.

Once I got my idea for my NostoNeo comic, I was so excited to make character board just like Cherrilu did. I had OCs before NostoNeo was an idea, but they didn't fit the aesthetic idea of a character board, I still love them though, and I'll try to make some board for them once my focus as shifted from NostoNeo. Anyways,  let's move on to how aesthetic board can help when coming up with ideas for characters.

There is  a reason why artist/writers or anyone who likes to tell stories of people who don't exist make character boards for characters that don't already exist in media. Not only are aesthetic board pretty to look as I mention before (and it's also in the name of the thing) they also serve a beneficial service in making said character.  Character boards let the creator get a good idea of character without doing much of anything but simple picking and putting together images,  also a good way for a writer to describe their character (or other story elements) more clearly.

Character board are also a great for getting ideas to flow if you're stuck in writer's block, sometimes some idea will jump spring up out of nowhere while you're looking through  images. Character boards force you to think deeply about your character, who they are as person, how they think, or maybe even how they talk and really help you get in the mindset of that character. Even if you have two characters that have the same interest in something it can make you really think how different these character's views are on said subject.  Character board also help artist as well because you once you add images to your board you start to see that you character has a color to them, and that can help with stuff like coming up a color scheme.

Character outfits is another thing that character  boards are great for especially when it's hard for you to come up with more than one set outfit. Character boards can also give you a great feeling of getting to know your character (which one of best feelings  in the world in my opinion).  Now, I will admit that character boards aren't for everyone, they are mostly thing for visual-thinkers. There are lots of creative people that can make wonderful character without the asist of character boards, and that's completely fine but you can't say they aren't helpful for others.

Well, if you are ready this far you are either interested/want to make a board or just reading because this isn't the conclusion. Either way, I'm going to show you have to make a (Pinterest) Aesthetic Board. I'm only going over how to make a Pinterest aesthetic board because that's the only version I know how to do confidently. This is my first time making a "how to" on anything so bare with me.

Step 1:

Once you have made a account and/or signed in, select the "Create a Board" option on your page, if this is your first time have an account on Pinterest it should be the only option available to you.

Step 2:

Title your board with your character's name you can also add special type characters if you want and some emojis, just for this tutorial I'm just going to leave the name. (you can always come up and edit later of crouse) you can also make the choice of keep it private so only you can view or leave it public. Some like to private their board until it looks presentable, but leaving it public helps you find others with similar aesthetic.

 Step 3:

Here comes the fun part! you can now add images to your board to make it really come alive. You can find images by searching keywords that relate to your character or just search "aesthetic (I'm sure you find something), google chrome has pinterest app for the browser where you can add any picture for anywhere,  Check to see if the homepage has anything good, you can search through other user's  aesthetic board for images (JUST DO NOT COPY THE WHOLE BOARD, but I don't know why you would), or you can add your own image by clicking + button at the bottom right.

In conclusion, I find aesthetic board pretty helpful and just pretty in general. They are great for getting ideas rolling, visualizing a character, and they give you something cool to look at.  I've always thought about explaining aesthetic character to someone who didn't know over and over again in my mind, but I've never know I could explain it that detailed. It was nice to actually have somewhere to put all these thoughts. I hope you enjoy reading this post, it was the first time I used gif  headers instead of typing them out.  I actually had a lot fun making them with my bandicam, I was going to premiere since I do have it but that always take super long to load.  Anyways, thanks again for coming to my TedTalk on character aesthetic boards until next time....
